About Our Company

Action Supportive Care Services (ASCS) is a local nurse-owned and operated school-based healthcare agency. We provide specialized healthcare services to students ranging from preschool age through adult transition in local public and non-public schools.

With over 15 years of experience, we embrace our role in being on the front lines, promoting wellness, managing chronic diseases, administering medication, and addressing issues that affect students in and out of the classroom.

Keeping Children In School

ASCS recognizes that school nurses are an essential component to the health and well-being of students, particularly those with acute and chronic health conditions. We also understand that without nursing services for many of these students, attendance would decrease due to students being unable to attend school.

A study conducted by the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) revealed that nearly three-fourths of school districts partner with community organizations outside of the school to meet the needs of students and their families. This study emphasizes the importance of using a reliable nursing contractor who has a large pool of nursing staff as well as contingencies to "backfill" for potential staff absences or illness. By doing so, this allows schools to provide proper care for students attending school.

School Nursing Care Specialists

At ASCS, we consider our ability to provide the best care for students from our pool of resources to be our strength. We have four dedicated School Nursing clinical supervisors who are trained and oriented to each student/site we serve so that any one of them can fill in when needed. This ensures a child's access to education is preserved.

In addition, ASCS takes great pride in working with our local schools to maximize efficiencies in staffing logistics in order to minimize the fiscal impact schools absorb. These efforts provide more financial flexibility for schools given the constricted budgets they are confronted with. We can also help schools implement and maintain mechanisms that allow the school to be reimbursed for certain services they furnish to students.
